PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

2018 brings the 80th Rylstone Kandos Show. Now, as much as ever the show is a major event on the local calendar.

In today’s digital age events that unite the community in a common cause are becoming rarer and more difficult to maintain. The Show fills this roll by uniting the community not just through the exhibitors who compete or display in the many and varied sections but also through all the people who give their time, experience, money and energy to stage this event and to those who come through the gates to enjoy the entertainment.

I would like to take the opportunity to thank those who contribute to the 2018 show many who have been doing so for some time. Your efforts are appreciated and make a real difference. While there are far too many to mention individually I will single out Leanne Neilsen who is leaving the district and has successfully filled many different rolls at the show and will be difficult to replace. On behalf of the entire show community I wish her well in the future.

Sadly, we lost a great stalwart during the year with the passing of Max Goddard. Max was a Life Member of the Show Society and gave countless hours service over many years. He will be missed by all who knew him.

The horse section has a revamped program in 2018 and together with the sheep section that underwent changes last year will be bigger and better in coming years.

The night program has been extended with non-stop entertainment on the main ground from 4.30pm until the fireworks at around 9pm. This will be an exciting program well worth a look!

All the usual sections will also be back including the ever-popular Pavilion, livestock, horses, birds, poultry, dogs, utes, sculpture and so much more.

The wide variety of information and trade stands, food and bar outlets together with the excitement of the sideshows and rides will entertain.

There really is something for everyone at the Rylstone-Kandos Show so in 2018 Give the Show a Go.

Sam Hamilton
